Master Duel Meta Report: Indomitable Pride

Selection Pack: Indomitable Pride has utterly shaken the core of the Master Duel metagame, bringing forth one of the most fearsome decks in the game's history since Tearlaments released almost a year ago. Superheavy Samurai, longtime YouTube replay farming deck, has received support that brings it to an undeniable pinnacle status and without question one of the best decks in the format. A restriction as heavy as not being allowed to play Spell or Trap cards would lead one to believe a deck cannot be viable, but the insurmountable power of new cards like Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi and Superheavy Samurai Motorbike far outweighs the drawback. The deck notably however has massive counterplay that can end the duel immediately, such as Droll & Lock Bird and Performapal Five-Rainbow Magician, the latter of which the deck has no ways of actually removing once it sticks, made doubly dangerous due to its non-Once Per Turn effect to place itself in the scale.

Also arriving is Gold Pride, a TCG-original archetype that sadly has failed to live up to its lofty expectations, despite not being completely unplayable. Fans of the deck are still able to enjoy the play style, just not on any level of competitiveness. Sleeper deck Nemleria was met with an overwhelming reaction of apathy by the playerbase, putting players to sleep just as the theming suggests.

Despia remains as the clear frontrunner of the format, with many combo lines, ability to fight through disruption, and a very powerful grind game. A blemish on the otherwise skill-promoting and interactive deck however is the not uncommon use of Gimmick Puppet Nightmare, a card which often wins duel immediatelyt with not a significant amount of counterplay. Despite many hits over the last year, Despia is likely to remain as a high contender in the meta as the most powerful Abyss Lore archetype.

Despia

Despia continues to be as Despia is: an extremely potent, variable, and (usually) skill-expressive deck. While many may be quick to discount the potential of the deck due to Puppet locking (or any other monster that fulfils the same purpose), tournament showcasing has shown the deck is more than capable of wiping out anything in the meta through conventional means. As the longest-running meta deck in Master Duel history, those who bought in all that time ago must be celebrating their past decisions.

Superheavy Samurai

A meme deck thrust hard into the competitive sphere, Superheavy Samurai has a unique playstyle that betrays one of the most generic and boring end boards of all time, though undeniably one of the most powerful. Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi is the culprit behind this sudden rise to power, enabling endless combo lines and FTKs just by its lonesome.

Despite the banning of key FTK enablers the deck is still more than capable of Scythe locking the opponent, which is functionally the end of the Duel in most scenarios anyway. If not for Despia, SHS and its eternally long turns would be the deck to beat, at least until the pack rotates out of the shop and becomes vulnerable to the Forbidden & Limited list.

Hi everyone! I'm not an experienced player in this game, but want to reach platinum so i can finish some trophies. Currently i have a mixture of cards and a budget version of an Eldlich deck. Is that a good enough deck to climb to platinum? I currently have 139 SR and 193 UR points that i can spend (plus many other cards i don't use). What do you guys recommend me to do to reach platinum? Thanks in advance

Just build Swordsoul, it's the best structure deck & super easy to pilot

Where can i buy that structure deck? In the structure deck tab from the store i can't see one that says "swordsoul". Despite that, i achieved platinum V just by playing my Eldlich deck.

Yeah, I second the dude who said Swordsoul you will find success with it. Deck still performing great since its release in MD. The Salad suggestion and maybe Floo are bad. They used to be great for new players not anymore. Its just PAIN.

Currently there's no Swordsoul structure to purchase from the Shop. This is the campaign they mean: https://www.masterduelmeta.com/articles/quick-news/code-share

If you get a new player to enter your code you both get a Swordsoul structure. Some players even great multiple account just to get the deck and other gems (create a second steam account or just the phone might work). Otherwise you build the deck the usual way.

Consider Building Salamangreat, it has an structure pack (so you'll only spend 1500 gems to complete it) with all the cards you need (despite Staples). It is pretty easy to get Plat 1 with it. Also, it will help you build any further Cyberse deck (such as Mathmech, Marincess), and it also will get stronger soon, as it will receive some support.

Love the meta besides SHS. A lot of skill intensive decks. You actually have to be smart to win

You put L3mon who got top 8 with my deck, before me, who I placed top 4? Edit: I don’t really care.

Look at every other category, even your own, it's in no specific order.
