Started playing R-ace in the tcg and been having a blast so started playing in md as well.

Saw a regional topping deck profile running piri map and 3x alert as well as reinforce and decided to give it a go and honestly I'm liking it. You nearly always have access to hydrant and that makes alert that much more powerful to draw. Reinforce also comes in clutch being able to recycle spells used on the previous turn e.g. if I've got an alert in grave I will set the two main traps + reinforce + rescue. This feels like a set 5 as I can reinforce the turbulence or preventer nearly always buying me another turn and then banish reinforce for alert which I can activate thanks to hydrant searching either follow up or impulse.

In terms of the climb I'm used to playing more rogue decks so playing r-ace felt like a breaze as I had a plethora or plays to bypass my opponents interruptions and impulse is such a good card when going second being able to just mold my hand. I faced a lot of white woods and snake eye mostly in the climb but surprisingly I didn't feel outmatched. Personally I don't think white woods is nearly the same power level as snake eyes as it still has a super hard time going second. Ofc if either deck full combos uninterrupted its hard for any deck to beat them but normally a well time preventor atleast reduces their end boards power.
