Notes & Combos

I wouldn't say this was an impossible climb, but I will say that I had to face a bazillion Tenpai players;

• Only one of them ever summoned Samurai Destroyer on me and it was the M1 Rank-Up.
• Only one of them ever summoned Baronne on me and they got chain blocked at the right time because they Ashed my Fusion Spell in GY on turn 1.

and yet... there were others that never did that and won by the sheer luck of drawing Droplet or Maxx "C" against the right hand. So many misplays left and right.

Needless to say, this was a battle of me drawing "normal" hands and my opponents not having every single answer they ever wanted. Typical Master Duel, right?

The other matchups were all over the place. Besides Tenpai, I faced random stuff like Scareclaw Mannadium, Mathmech (ok, maybe that makes some sense), Yubel (sensible), and for some godforsaken reason, Snake-Eye Horus Yubel palooza 60 card piles that almost always opened enough gas to play through 3 hand traps (stop encouraging them holy moly dude). I even faced a... going 1st Skull Servant FTK, like bro can you not?

Onto some of the interactions that helped me the most:

• To completely turn off imperm/veiler, 1st Movement summon Aria is so satisfying. This is also really frustrating for Snake-Eye Fire King players to deal with, as it turns off Promethean Princess. Their only out I think is Zealantis if you establish Aria + Elegy for full targeting and destruction protection.
• If you expect to get Impermed on Bacha but you don't have 1st Movement, send Refrain as one of your Fusion Materials from Ostinato. If they don't Imperm Bacha, special summon Aria and you're home free as long as you have any other Melodious monster to link summon with.
• If Etoile dies by battle, you get to summon Bacha in the Damage Step, which leads to Refrain->Couplet revive Aria, or summoning Aria directly, which cannot be Ashed or Dropleted until after resolution. A nice way to float in battle phase.
