Notes & Combos

No Perlereino, no problem at all. Tearlaments strongest!

No changes, for good reasons

You may notice that I keep using the same list as last month (my decklist from October), because I am very convinced that my list is optimized. I can't imagine any changes that would make my list better. But I noticed some trends in deckbuilding that I need to adress:

  • I've seen a couple people playing Ash Blossom over Maxx C and I think this is a HUGE mistake. The Tenpai Dragon usage already declined from 25% to 12-15%. On the other hand the usage of Tenpai counterdecks significantly increased, especially the usage of heavy combo decks like Mathmech Ignister or Supreme King Melodius that play through 2-3 handtraps and only lose if you have Maxx C combined with other handtraps. 1 Ash Blossom does almost nothing, but Maxx C gives you a chance to win going 2nd.
  • Horus remains a waste a or UR crafts. I am still convinced that Horus is inferior than other starters/extenders like Grief, which is by far the best extender. Also, Ghost Ogre became much more common recently, which makes King's Sarc plays more vulnerable.
  • Black Goat is also not needed. I played a bit Tenpai Dragon myself in rating duels and opened a couple hands that were able to OTK through Black Goat. Tenpai Dragon without Genroku was quite vulnerable to Black Goat, but now with Genroku it can play much better through it.
  • Still no Called by the Grave, for the same reason as Ash Blossom. You don't need any cards to negate Maxx C, this card isn't a major threat and Tear can make solid boards under Maxx C.

In general I think Tear is a pretty solid deck right now and will be much better with D-Shifter at 1 in December.
